JOB NAME:

Ogden School

LOCATION:

Chicago, IL

ARCHITECT:

Nagle, Hartray, Danker, Kagan, McKay, Penny, Ltd

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Ogden School is located at 24 W. Walton Street in Chicago’s Gold Coast Neighborhood. The 156,000 square foot Ogden International School is a state of the art facility with underground parking, rooftop recreational area, and a large area devoted to a green rooftop. This beautiful all brick building is quite a masterpiece. The exterior masonry has an interesting mix of masonry details, shapes, and shades. The bold brick bands are softened by the bull nose brick corner and jamb detailing. The use of salvaged limestone and granite panels from the original school building adds a welcomed tie of the past and the new. This project was awarded the 2012 Brick in Architecture Award for Best in Class: Educational Category.
